first impressions.
In this speed obsessed era with access to everything at your fingertips in an instant, the process of designing marketing material caused us to think carefully about how we want to communicate with you. Do we want to create something tangible? Or do we want to follow up with your appointment virtually? These marketing materials are a preview into your wedding day here at Stevenson Estate. We decided to create something tangible, that you could take home with you, that you could read and review in your own time and on your own terms. You may already have a virtual impression by exploring our website or following our social media, but we wanted our first “in-person impression” to exude simplicity, ease, and a blank slate. A blank slate where you can create everything that you’re envisioning for your special day. We are strong believers that your wedding day should be a true representation of you.
Now, apply this concept and thought process to your invitations because — “You never get a second chance to make a first impression.” Think about your invitation and save the date as a preview to your wedding day. Include hints of your colour palette, details that imply the level of formality, and most of all — an overall vibe that is reflective of your personalities.
Start with creating a guest list. You’ll need this to move forward with all of your up-coming decisions. This may be arguably one of the most important decisions that you make. The guest list can seriously influence your day — we’re all a product of who we surround ourselves with right?
If you want to exude luxury you may consider hiring a stationer that’ll be able to help you with customizations including calligraphy, foil stamping, embossing, engraving, wax seals, and monogramming. If you want to exude laid back and ease you might consider creating a wedding website where all your guests can easily RSVP and receive an E-invite. Maybe you want to exude something in-between you might consider using an online template and printing invitations yourself. What all of these options have in common is — they are a little preview to your wedding day.
Establishing the overall vibe early and being mindful of it as you move through the design process will make each decision you face that much easier and leave you with a wedding that feels considered and well thought out the whole way through — a true representation of you.
